Events | Fashion's Night Out : September 10, 2010
Oddly enough, I knew nothing about this last year. That is, until the day of.
I don't quite remember what stopped me from heading out but I didn't go. & I was sick about it.
This year there's a different plot.
I've already begun searching for looks!! [It's that kind of night, so I've heard].
I mean, when there's a chance that you may run into Anna Wintour - you might want to exude VOGUE.
...or something close to it.
Vogue's too stoosh for me though - I'm Half Priss/Half Hippy.
...hmm ~.~ We'll work it out.
..Hope to see you guys around ;)

Speaking of J.Crew...
I took this pic on June 18th while looking through J.Crew's catalog.
They have a bridal section that I'd just found out about THAT day.
I thought it was a joke. J.Crew? Weddings? ...I'm like, ":-\ ..really?!"
But yea, they're quite serious. & it took me to find this look before I was completely sold.
I'd so walk down the aisle in this.
Can you not see it? On me? ...Mo Hawk and all.
Might even add a cute little flower or baby's breath down the spine of it.
No?
I mean, I have time to figure this out.
I don't plan on jumping anyone's broom - ANYTIME SOON.
But you can't kill a girl for dreaming. [>_> @ Jada - insider. sorry].
The skirt's about 300 fat ones. Not bad at all.
I simply love this look. It's very Tierra. & casual's seldom done.
No one gets married in a Henley.
[My mother & grandmother would NOT be impressed]
...Anyway, just thought I'd share that seeing as though we're on the subject. lol

J. Crew KIDS
Seriously? ...She should not be this cute.
J. Crew makes the best clothing for kids.
It may be a good thing that I don't have a little sis or bro at home, I'd more than likely play with them as if they were dolls.

p.s. I want her entire 'fit.

Henna.
How pretty is this!?
..Ever gotten a Henna design?
I haven't, but I'm soo in love with this pic that I almost feel as if I want one.
I mean, it isn't permanent or anything so that works.
The design and colors featured in this photo are really cool - I'd want this [perhaps on my foot] if I ever decided to go through with it.

Vintage Underwear
Yay or Nay??
___________________
I happen to like them. Love them, almost.
I recently purchased a few and though I wear them out ..I think they're best for bed time dress-up.
They have a super high waist and most often my jeans don't reach that high - so with a pair that's low-rise, you may feel as if you're wearing an exercise band o_O lol.
[This is strictly dependent upon how thick your fabric is.]
But without any outer layering, they create a pretty sexy silhouette.
& don't listen to your friends, they aren't Granny Panties lol.
I like to pair mine with lace midriffs.
"It gives me '..Chef cookin' for me!'"as my cousin @PlatinumGrammer would say.

Style Spotlight | Arre Elle
Today I took a few pics for kicks and figured I'd Spotlight my own style this week.
Why not? ..Just assumed my followers might want to know a little bit about the girl behind the keyboard.
So here goes..

Seeing as though, this is MY style spotlight, I had a friend ask me a few fashion and style related questions.
Prior to this, I attempted to interview myself and everything seemed super generic lol.
______________________________________________________________________
- Most people dress how they feel. Describe your style without using fashion terms, just using feelings.
-Using feelings only - my style, coupled with my hair can be best described as lively and animated. I'm far from a minimalist and my friends sometimes say that I'm often "costumey" in the way that I dress. I like to make fashion fun and would rather be "costumey" than Doug Funny boring [see his wardrobe].
- If you could wear one thing everyday what would it be?
- If I could wear one thing everyday it'd have to be the one thing that I wear ALMOST everyday. My high-waisted & distressed Levis shorts. Why? I love the way they compliment just about everything in my closet. Not to mention, I love to show my legs and they look extra long whenever I wear these shorts. ;)
- What's one thing you hated wearing when you were younger that you wish you had now?
- When I was younger I was notorious for sporting a high ponytail with a ribbon and I hated it. I loved the ponytail, hated the accessory. Now, If I could slap my old length back on my head from time to time, I'd soo wear that hairstyle.
- What is the new black?
- What is more important to you, looking good or looking like you're living good?
- Fashion wise, at what age did you decide who you were?
- Are you looking to have a career in fashion, and if so what sector of the industry?
- Who/What do you often look to for inspiration when putting together looks?
- What websites do you use when shopping online?
- Re: fashion, what's one quote that you love to live by?

Tavi Gevinson Totally GIVES!
14 year-old Blogger, Tavi Gevinson is what I would proclaim to be "Young && Stuntin'!"
At such a young age she's styling photo shoots, sitting front row @ Fashion Week [NY, Paris, Milan], appearing in magazines, and covering them as well [see Pop Magazine]. She's even bumped heads with Seventeen Magazine about their "Fat & Ugly" headline re: Pot.
She's young with style and a voice - living my dream and I adore her for that!

He Say | She Say - Drew Barrymore
"A lot of times in life, there's a big gap in what you're supposed to do with work and figuring out who you are and how you're going to succeed in this world. Success being only measured by doing what you want to do and what makes you happy-not success as in power-and figuring that out or trying to accomplish that, you realize, takes a tremendous amount of homework and passion and diligence. I happened to go through it from 14 to 19. I had a big gap in my life where I wasn't allowed to work at all because no one would hire me, which was great because I think you need that humility. You have to have everything taken away, or you have to have a major reality check, so that you always appreciate what you have."

Lust List | Sneaker Shoes
I've been having fashion cravings for a good pair of sneaker shoes for the longest!
I fell in love with my first pair about a year or two ago [maybe 3]. They were DKNY, all white & there was also a multi-colored pair. I'd pretty much wear them both. I was attracted to the make of the shoe more than anything. It's girly but super laid back. ...Perfect for those days when all you want to throw on is a sweat suit - which I have often but never really follow through with the fit arrangement due to my footwear options. I own 3 pair of sneakers - neon green Air Max 95s [workout only], black Chucks [everyday kick back], and a pair of platinum [Reebok doppelganger] Nike's [almost NEVER worn until yest.] ....(-_- These don't necessarily hit it for me.
Sweatsuit or not, I always want to be uber stylish & feminine. ..hence why I NEED a pair.
These babies scream for attention - I'd play with them in an all grey/black suit [heather grey cotton, black - sort of wind breaker-ish].
[Buy them HERE]

RED-dy or NOT!
Ok, so this is my new thing. Something I've been playing with for some time now [in my head] that I'm bout ready to execute. ....I'd like to challenge myself to wear something red every day of the week.
It doesn't have to be gargantuan, gaudy isn't my style. It can be anything from a red belt, red lip or red nails. A ring or necklace with a red gem will even suffice or a sneaky red bra. There just has to be a glimmer of it somewhere.
Why?? ..well one of my favorite colors is red. It's exciting and sexy. Most ppl's personalities are affected by color. Black is drab and can cause you to feel just that but red never disappoints. It'll be my little ball of fire. My look-at-me piece [specifically for days when I don't necessarily feel to exude that]. I think red is a silent whisperer - telling all those witnessing, that you are fun and lively. You see red and you think of passionate love or violence and warfare. It's that serious of a color and I want it with me at all times.
Today's motto is Be Bold!
I think it calls for bold nails ;)

What Means The World To You?
A Day Gone Bad for me usually isn't the result of untameable hair, or missing my train when in a rush. I know how it feels to crave music and realize that you've left your iPOD at home on the dock/usb. ..But I wouldn't call it a major buzz kill. No one ever wants to have JUST $5 in their pocket. EVER. The thought is quite repulsive BUT I'll take that as long as I am able to express myself creatively. Not being able to do so is A Day Gone Bad, indeed. - my art means everything to me. [what means the world to you?]

Dereon Fall/Winter 2010
Idk if these pics are fit for an AD. They aren't selling anything besides Beyonce and her painted on tats.
It looks as if the clothes MAY be able to earn swag points but then again, things usually look sweeter behind a lens. .& especially with a side of photo-shop. [...see: Kimora Lee Simmons' Baby Phat] -_-.
I almost have hope for the black leather jacket w| spiked out shoulders - and the black booties but I definitely can't make a decision based on these photos.
Beyonce is of course her usual fierce self & if she didn't slay these pics I probably wouldn't have posted them. I'm not a Dereon supporter. I have zero belief in the brand. Harsh, but true. I don't understand how these glamour dolls can strut in their all-luxurious-everything and then produce crap-ola for the masses.
..s'wrong wit em!? <_<
Back to the tats! ...CRAZY, no?
Ugh, I am in luh luh LOVE with the spine going down her back.
So much in love that I almost get the urge to be a bold bitty and snag it.
[Dare To Dream!?]
